Hello Everyone,

Last week was our assembly piece ‘Home Among the Gumtrees’ which was a huge sucess. The students looked tremendous in their costumes, so a big thank you goes to all the parents who went that extra mile to find an interesting costume.

We were VERY busy last week getting our ‘Wow Work’ ready for assembly. As our assembly was only in the first few weeks of Year 2 I think the students created some fantastic pieces of writing. This was a very valuable learning experience as the students progressed through the writing processes of writing a draft, editing and finally publishing. If you haven’t had a chance to see this writing it is now up in Room 25.

Each Wednesday your child will receive a Word Problem to look at which we will mark later on in the week. We have been learning to use the problem solving strategy of C.U.B.E.S. The acronym is explained in the below poster. It would be beneficial if you could use this strategy when you read through it with your child. You are able to circle, underline and draw boxes on the copy sent home.
